Trinity Jubilee Cookbook

Trinity Jubilee Cookbook coverSay Hello to the Jubilee Cookbook

Looking for some classic southern recipes? This year’s Trinity Bazaar offers a second printing of the Cathedral’s beloved 50th anniversary cookbook, The Jubilee Cookbook, stocked full of southern favorites.

It’s About Heritage Cooking

The original Jubilee Cookbook was created in 1998 to capture more than 50 years of favorite and sometimes historic Trinity recipes. It’s not a fancy cookbook. Don’t expect lots of glossy pictures. What you will find is a treasure trove, printed in classic form, of almost 100 years of cooking ideas. Spiral binding makes it easy to use the book in the kitchen.

Find recipes for favorites like  Red Fish Cake (Hush Puppies), Beer Bread, Biscuits, Sourdough Bread, and Coffee Cake. Go 1960’s old-school with Congealed Apple-Black Cherry Salad and Green Bean Casserole, or get dangerous with the Shake Like H… Salad Dressing. Enjoy homemade Stuffed Eggplant, Tomato & Cheese Casserole, or a classic Southern Tomato Pie.

Mrs. Graydon’s Ginger Cream Cheese and Mrs. Thompson’s Date Loaf make great Christmas presents for friends and neighbors! Find the cream cheese recipe below.

Why the 2nd printing?

The original cookbook is long sold-out, tucked away on the shelves of an older generation.  But, you don’t have to miss out on the fun. Order one or more of this second printing (stocking stuffers?).

Ginger Cream CheeseMrs. Grayson’s Ginger Cream Cheese

This is yummy on a slice of pear or tart apple, a graham cracker with a little pineapple on top, on toasted pound cake, or on a bit of Mrs. Thompson’s Date loaf.

Mix together:

  • 1 block of full-fat cream cheese
  • 1 jar of ginger preserves (not crystalized ginger, ginger preserves are a jam)
  • enough mayonnaise to make the mix spreadable.
